Rocking the night away at New Hartley Victory Sports and Social Club
The gig list for 2008 has been updated and what you see is what we have booked at present but, as ever, the list will probably grow as time passes. It only remains for the band to wish everyone a happy Christmas and a great new year and for those of you who have supported us and continue to do so a big thanks to all of you. It was great to see Led Zeppelin on stage again after so long and that so many people still enjoy the classic rock sound of the 70s. If thats you musical forte, come along and see the Roosters we try to bring those memories back to the pub and club scene.
The gigs at the Avalon in Whitley Bay have been cancelled due to the hotel ceasing putting on live bands. An addition to the gig list sees the band playing at Wardley British Legion club in Gateshead who hold a rock night on Fridays.
We have been invited to attend the Harley Davidson `Heart & Soul` rally in September at Newcastle race course at High Gosforth Park in Newcastle. This is a huge event consisting of two stages with entertainment throughout the day and evening. It is a ticket event only and my advice is to get on the web and find the organisers to see if there are tickets still available. We also recently gigged Wardley Rock Night at Wardley Legion club in Gateshead. The weather was absolutely abysmal and it was also Good Friday but our thanks go out to those who did come along, we had a great night and hope you did.
The band are currently working on new material and have thrown one or two new songs into the fray recently. One such song is Fortunate Son by the legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival, so far it has been very well received. Watch out for more.
In June 2008 the band once again renewed it`s acquintance with the RNLI lifeboat station At Cullercoats, North Tyneside. A gig was performed at the Northumbria Social Club in Newcastle to raise funds for what can only be described as an essential emergency service but, unlike other recognised emergency services, the RNLI has to rely on charity and donations to keep itself functioning which in this day and age is an absolute disgrace. Still a great time was had by all and we hope to be able to help out again soon. Thanks also to my good friend Tony Garrity who attended the recent Fat Ox gig in Whitley Bay and took some amazing photos of the band, a few of which you can see below. The rest will but uploaded in due course. We will be ahving a break from the road during July and most of August due to holidays and will be back at the Fat Ox again on August 29th 2008.
